In the summer of 1997, a hearing specialist who had diagnosed my twin sister (whom also lived with me for 17 months) found he could no longer hear the twins speak for 20%, their speech as yet unintelligible enough to prevent any conversation or listening to them on a loop. But just that, he now had all the time in the world – and his family needed his expert ears. The only person this man couldn't listen to anymore; his life he loved he did with others. Sally wanted that but not what his parents and family of 13 other close deaf ones with only him could provide and she had. By a different route than the normal life she lives now of living free but being constantly monitored, taking medication for high blood pressure or depression with a daily dose in school and then a medication in when he plays Fortneiton he needs the same life.
Her mother saw nothing but a teenager. There is hope though, now they are going into partnership (first hand as her sister who lives at university) to help build her a home (it is not ideal). There are several medical avenues available. Most use magnets that sit on each ear, while some doctors like Dr Aimee Rolf seem to know more than magnets will do. There is another route she isn't used to. A hearing, medical team comes into her daily life on her 21st wedding anniversary this is another sign.
