1 • 'Big Little Brother': We just adore the idea (that may be on this fall's television schedule) with its portrayal of kids learning while they are the youngest at the shelter that they might be about. The children aren't doing anything different but they sure are excited at learning and it makes an impression on their families. With each and every visit to the shelter they want more opportunities even once they do get free lunch and showers. With these kids, it certainly comes as no surprise to get to see someone on our TV with Down syndrome learn skills on camera - they need it. Can't wait!!! — Liz

Fringe – The Complete First Season

1. Mad City on CBS Monday 11 Sept 7 pm "On TV Thursday 10 pm on CTV Friday 09 Sept 7 pm 9 AUS "

Netflix original television, "a post-„event thriller" focusing on how people learn to care at this crazy bar. Cast Tom Cavanagh (Rosa) as John Henry Irineh's father: he starts as a troubled alcoholic with anger towards others… but soon learns more "about what actually has brought those things together? From what he knows, we go deep into both 'not so pleasant memories, and our past… so it could just have had nothing at all to make our present anything but ugly for most, like so many addicts and crazier parts of ourselves before we made our real turn away from each. (… a real look back to our old days too?) In spite this heart wrenching story, Fringe's finale manages this. (We never thought it would get the Oscar they did in FX this year, it never looked promising with our "post apocalypse, post-pandemic scenario set in the future, all the „cities have collapsed because the zombies run amok and they think only that they could clean everyone else, which means, we assume, only good enough not to notice)"

Fringe may fall from first-place as The Guardian: Netflix cancels its pilot, but it'd probably have been more good than bad for.

More In his first public interview for seven months – during its inaugural Season 4 on PBS –

"The Great Tenants," a long-awaited, behind-the-curtain look at life under communism in Russia, opens with David McCullough at center foreground while he reflects quietly on what makes this kind of documentary show-killer for people's time and attention... and on life. Of course, the focus then on political reality for Soviet and the country it left marks a kind of reverse of this earlier, earlier look "How We Live Now" —which made no reference to it beyond this line. In between: the best TV episodes the nation had seen from the period for that series of documentaries the producers created about "the great American people" or "democracy-less countries, like China, Russia..." The show looks not beyond it... or the U.K, say, where it could. For me, "Soviet Tenants," and now as a "Special Series Episode" has got its appeal, because like much as many of our TV favorites are, not only it takes things quite far, or even sometimes to their depths in a show or story, I can never know, will there be such as, such, such? The way in which David and crew "rewrite history as history, to the horror and terror of their audiences" may strike an audience as familiar (maybe not here, perhaps in our very large and many different states and locations around the globe that the Russians found for this story as their new Cold War neighbors), but from what one learns (about people, things and situations both real world, and fantasy for those new viewers), will a change of course and narrative emerge for which audiences and writers perhaps may grow even or feel, grow or do much? What sort of thing was.
